WESTEND COLLEGE OF PERFORMING ARTS INVOLVES ALL STYLES OF DANCE TO GIVE A WELL-ROUNDED DANCE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION TO PARTICIPATING STUDENTS.

WESTEND COLLEGE OF PERFORMING ARTS INVOLVES ALL STYLES OF DANCE TO GIVE A WELL-ROUNDED DANCE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION TO PARTICIPATING STUDENTS.

The Extension Training Program is designed to enable talented students between the ages of 12 & 18 years to receive intensive daily dance training, up to 25 hours per week whilst continuing academic studies in a Secondary school environment. Students make arrangements with their current Secondary Schools in order to attend the daily afternoon class timetable. Alternatively, students may continue their Secondary School Studies through Distance Education. WEPA have a designated school room that students are able to do their Distance Education in a supportive environment, with students who are like minded and have the same goal for their future.

This program is the only one of its kind in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, and is also the only Program that is not exclusively ballet focussed. Although ballet training is a large portion of the training students will receive, students are also required to take lessons in all styles of performing arts, including musical theatre, drama, singing, silks, and acrobatics.

There are a limit of 10 places into each program at a time to enable all students enrolled the best possible training.

We are not looking for students who are necessarily the “best” dancers, but dancers who have potential and the drive to be successful in the program.
